Score Values
Scores can be assigned by individual judges and compiled into a composite score.
Scores are used by judges to indicate the perceived quality of an image.
Individual scores by a judge are set using website judging.
When all judges have completed scoring images, a "composite" score is computed from the scores entered by all the judges. This may be a sum or scores or an average of scores, based on the option specified in the Competition Type for the competition. Score averaging is preferred since it easily allows a variable number of judges.
Competition Managers can view individual scores from the judges in several ways:
- Using the website menu "Judging", "Judging Queue for Website Judging", you can use the "Analyze" button for a competition to view how each image was judged, including critiques and entries from "judges in Training".
- Using the website menu "Judging", "Judging Queue for Website Judging", you can use the "Select" button to select a competition. In the drop-down list of judges you can select a judge before selecting a Competition Level. The scores recorded by that judge will be displayed, but only if all the judges have not marked their scoring as complete.
- When all scores has been completed, hovering the pointer over the thumbnail will display a popup message with shows the individual scores, but not the names of the judges.
- When scoring is complete, you can use a Manage Competitions page and the "Images" button. The list that displays has a column call "Awards" that also includes the Composite Score for each image and the individual scores from judges. Ranking by judges is also include in parentheses.
- If you click the "Export Judging" button at the bottom of the Images list you can export an Excel spreadsheet that includes the name of each judge and the score assigned by the judge.
