Copying Jobs, Schedules or Real-Time Monitors between databases

SureSync v7 and newer

To copy a Job, Schedule, or Real-Time Monitor from one database to another, one of the following methods can be used:

  • Open the SureSync Desktop with the database you wish to copy from. Open another copy of the SureSync Desktop and click on Home | Database | Open Existing Database to open the database you want to copy into. In the Desktop with the source item, select the object to be copied and press Ctrl + C (or right-click and select Copy). Click on a Group Folder in the new Database and press Ctrl + P to complete the paste operation.
  • Open just one desktop and the source database. Select the object you wish to copy and press Ctrl + C (or right-click and select Copy). Now open the target database from Home | Database | Open Existing Database. Select the Group Folder in the target you want to copy to and press Ctrl + P to complete the paste operation.

SureSync v6 and older

To copy a Relation, Schedule, or Real-Time Monitor (SureSync only) from one database to another, one of the following methods can be used:

  • Open the SureSync Desktop with the database you wish to copy from. Open another copy of the SureSync Desktop and use the File > Database > Open Existing Database dialog to open the database you want to copy into. Drag the Relations, Schedules and/or Real-Time Monitors that you want added from the source desktop to the destination desktop.
  • Open two desktops as done in the first example. Select the object to be copied in the source database. Select "Copy" from the "Edit" menu. In the destination desktop, left-click once on the Group Folder that is to be the target and select "Paste" from the "Edit" menu to complete the copy.
  • Open just one desktop and the source database. Select the object you wish to copy and select "Copy" from the "Edit" menu. Now open the target database. Select the Group Folder in the target you want to copy to and then select "Paste" from the "Edit" menu. This is more tedious than the above methods but works just as well.
